August 2007: Stairs damaged in minor accident.

The Disturbers are once again struck with the terrible misfortune of having one half of the Atlanta Rhythm Section go down (literally) with a severe case of ethanol induced palsied hands and brain, at what was up until that point one of the coolest gigs we have ever played. It was outside- and we played together with another awesome band "The Haymakers" from good old TEXAS. The first set we rocked, the second we rocked most of it, and the third was a pile of steaming fecal matter dripping from the recently liberated anal beads of the prison bitch who shared a cell with Mike Tyson during his last little jail stint. Get the picture? The evening culminated in a vicious attack on some newly placed paving stone steps that took quite a bloody beating from the head of one former band member who shall remain nameless (Blair). Thankfully, the paving stones made out all right after all.

The band has since voted to pull the plug and carry on in a few different directions. For the time being, the name "The Disturbers" will live on in the recording efforts of Darren & Bruce - who had done all of the "studio quality" recording anyhow up until this point.

May 3, 2007: The Joys of Recording!

Hey All! So we finally got off our asses and got some stuff down on tape...or hard drive rather, and have it posted in OUR MUSIC section. We are a funny group, as we rarely do more than one take or two MAX, and then we take that and do what limited editing we can. You can rest assured that what you hear is really us...no Brittany Spears voodoo effects on our stuff at all. There are also a couple of "100% studio mixes" in there as well for contrast...see if you can spot which & drop us a comment!

March 19, 2007:    When the "Atlanta Rhythm Section" becomes sauced; trials and tribulations.

So the Colchester Gig was a blast on St. Paddy's day, and we thank everyone who came out! There was a good time had by all; but some had more fun than others! Our dear Bass Player found himself in profound inebriation during the course of the evening, and was the source of much hubris and delight. My favorite memory was spying him staring at his somewhat palsied fingers as they walked clumsily up the neck of his bass desperately trying to fortuitously bump into one of the notes we were actually playing. All kidding aside, we sounded pretty good, and Blair really DID nail Locomotive Breath after all that practice.

Mar 9, 2007: So today's installment is entitled "Why Mother's Music in Edmonton Sucks":

So, here's the scoop. I have shopped at Mother's for around 20 plus years, spent untold THOUSANDS of dollars there over the years, and had always had good service & felt I got a good deal on what I bought from them. Recently there has been a change of management there, and since that time I have noticed a sharp decline in customer service & overall "vibe" of the store. A few month's back The Disturbers were looking for a new power amp for our P.A. system and went to Axe and Mother's both to shop for alternatives etc.. Well, in that experience the Mother's boneheads did not give me their best price until after I was called on the phone after I left the store and was driving to Axe...hence Axe got the sale. A few weeks back I made the grandiose decision to purchase a new Mesa Boogie amp... In this adventure, I made the  forcefully unbiased decision to give Mother's another kick of the can and win some of my business again...and presented them with the opportunity to "gimme your best price on that amp, cause I'm gonna buy it, all you have to do is give me your best price...between you and L and M...I also add that they lost the last big purchase due to lack of negotiation skills and not seeing that it was a guaranteed sale...looking for a deal, fair for both parties, just a no-BS best price. They remembered. SO Mr. sales guy, involves Mr. Manager guy, and Mr. Manager guy runs off to his little room for some computer screen looking and yapping in the phone. Here I think that Mr. Manager guy is working on that deal, but rather ; he was on the phone CALLING L&M TO BITCH AT THEM AT THE QUOTE I HAD TOLD HIM ABOUT from them )..their best price)...RATHER than: Working out his best price for me (even if it were higher, just tell me!). What a fucking loser...you were more inclined to put effort into that... rather than just quoting me your newly haughty non-other-than-sticker-price horseshit you call a quote. Fuck you and remember those untold thousands I had spent there in the past...when I never spend a cent there again...and watch you sink like red-meat-shit as your customers all see what I have since the new management...that being that Mother's fucking sucks now. C-Ya.

The sinking of the Sidertrack:

Feb 24, 2007: Ok, since this is our first installment, we figured we'd address the sad demise of the once great Sidetrack Cafe in Edmonton. It was indeed a sad sad day for Edmonton Music when The Sidetrack closed. We had just played there all but a month ago, and for us it was an honor and pleasure. We hope our having played there was less a comment on the downslide of the place than an attempt to prop things up with a great band...we'll leave it to you to determine where that falls!!!

Anyhow...we'll miss the place & lament the loss of a great venue with great staff in Edmonchuk!
